Leads the Antimicrobial Discovery Center, a molecular microbiology group studying bacterial persister cells, drug discovery, unculturable microorganisms, and Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Drug discovery efforts include screening compounds from previously “uncultured” species of microorganisms, and high-throughput screening for compounds with novel modes of action.
